The Day of
Trumpets begins the early fall season of
Holy Days. It is an annual Holy
convocation observed on the first Day of Tishri, the 7th month in the
Biblical calendar, (Sept-Oct), Lev.23:23-25. Technically speaking,
the new moons are not Holy periods, but this Holy convocation begins on
the first day of the month. Watch for the new moon of the seventh
month, then blow the trumpets!!!
ATTENTION:
Global announcements from Heaven are imminent!!!
Today, the blowing of the shofar (the ram’s horn) announces the day.
This ancient instrument, still in continuous use, is among the oldest
musical instruments in the world. Ever since the rams horn got
caught in the thicket which was provided by YAHWEH as a substitute
sacrifice for Abraham’s son Isaac, its sound has been special to HIM
(Gen.ch.22). It is a unique instrument, and the first time one hears
the piercing shrill of its trumpet-like blast, you instantly freeze in awe
of it’s unique and beautiful sound. It’s chilling call is the
ancient reminder of the power and compassion of our CREATOR. It is a
powerful spiritual power-tool known to repel evil.
Jewish tradition holds other meanings to this day: It is a day of
remembrance. (A Biblical example: Remember the story of
Abraham.) It is a day of judgment. (Isaac’s life was
offered on the altar to YAHWEH, but he was allowed to live, fathering the
Hebrew people and a great part of the western world).
Some classical rabbis also saw this as a day of regathering and believed
this day has a connection with the Messiah who would be an agent for the
regathering of a new Israel. And the Prophet Isaiah suggests that
sometime in the future the shofar will introduce the Messianic age to the
world.
The
observance of the day teaches us to watch the signs.
It is interesting to note that at one level YAHWEH has laid out the
overall calendar of the Holy Days in a manner that reflects the history of
the church. The first three feasts reflect the crucifixion, burial,
and resurrection of Yahshua which all happened very close together.
Then after a short pause He sent the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Since
Pentecost the Heavens have been silent, reflecting the long growing
season. Now after four months, in the seventh month, the silence is
suddenly broken by the blowing of the shofar.

YAHWEH likes the sounds of trumpets. In the Bible, the sounding of
trumpets or shofars always announced a dramatic spiritual event. For
example: Joshua used them to conquer Jericho (Jos.6:30). The miracle
of miracles: “. . . the trumpet will sound and the dead will raise . .
.” 1Corinthians 15:51-52. Yahshua will return at the sound of the
trumpet (1Ths.4:16).
Knowing that seven is YAHWEH’S special number signifying completion and
perfection, the seventh month is the end of the religious season, and
marks the time of the final phase of spiritual completion of YAHWEH’S
great master plan. The New Covenant Believers take it as a sign to
turn our attention to the series of unfolding spiritual events of the
season.
This Holy Day prophetically pictures the start of the spiritual harvest
season. The Biblical Holy Days correspond with the three harvest
seasons of the middle east. In the spring harvest season there are
the first three holidays, fulfilled by the Firstfruits small harvest; the
summer season yielded another harvest at Pentecost where 3,000 souls were
harvested. Sometime in the future, at the sign of the seventh
moon, YAHWEH will begin HIS final harvest of souls and after a period of judgment, HE will begin to establish HIS Kingdom on Earth.
Trumpets were also used as an alarm for impending warfare or Divine judgment. For the Christians, the Holy Day beginning with the
sounding of the trumpet pictures the time when Yahshua intervenes in world
affairs of humanity after a time of great tribulation, so great that “.
. . people’s hearts will fail them because of their fears” (Luk.21:26;
Mat.24:29-31; Rev.1:7). Yahshua will return to Earth with His army
to prevent the worldwide self-destruction of humanity.
“Coincidental dates?” Joshua brought the first offering
to the rebuilt altar (Ezr.3:1-6). Ezra read the Law to the returned
exiles to affirm the Covenant (Neh.8:2-3). Because of the reference
of “. . . the great day of the Lord . . .” by the Prophet Joel
1:14-15, it is a possible day for the Battle of Armageddon sometime in the
future. It is a possible date when Israel will mourn when they see
their Messiah, whom they have pierced (Zec.12:10-11).
This time, the ten days between the two Holy Days is one of the highest of Holy periods in
the Jewish calendar. The Jews begin a Holy period of reflecting,
soul searching, and introspection, for ten days beginning earlier at on
the Day of Trumpets (Rosh Hashana), culminating on the Day of Atonement, they call it “The
Days of Awe,” or “The Days of Affliction.” For the past ten
days the Jews would greet one another by saying, “May you be sealed in
the Book of Life.” They believed that this was the day when GOD
seals the books of accounting for the year, and they hoped their names
would be inscribed before the books are closed.
Now for twenty-four hours the people spend their time confessing their
personal sins and recite, “For HE is merciful and forgives iniquity.”
And as a community, it was a day when all ordinary life in Israel stops as
the people fast and mourn for their national sins, hoping and praying that
their Temple sacrifice would be accepted by YAHWEH.
The fearsome Day of Atonement is a yearly
Holy convocation observed on the 10th day of the 7th month, verses 26-32.
The theme: GOD allows U-turns! The goal: Peace with others, GOD, and
yourself. The motto: The best way to get even is to forget.
The fearsome day of reckoning is at hand! It is a very serious day.
It is the day to forgive and forget. No work is to be done. It
is a day to cleanse the spirit and soul, through a 24-hour commanded fast.
Turn to your CREATOR and afflict your soul, repent, confess,
forgive-and-be-forgiven!
- Seize the moment to find
“at-one-ment” with YAHWEH,
- and live again!
The Hebrews call it Yom Kippur, which means day of covering. In the
Bible, blood must be shed to cover sin. On this one day a year, the
Temple High Priest, wearing special clothing, entered the fearsome Holy of
Holies, the only place on Earth where YAHWEH dwelt (Lev.ch.16). The
High Priest entered carrying blood from the sacrificial animals and would
sprinkle the blood before the Mercy Seat (or the Ark of the Covenant).
All the while, he would be hoping and praying that YAHWEH would not reject
the sacrifice of Israel and strike him dead.
This Holy Day was also the anniversary date of the Jubilee year
(Lev.25:9-10). Every fiftieth year was a Jubilee year when all debts
were cancelled, the captives were set free, and lands would be returned to
their original owners. Classical rabbis speculated on a very special
future Yom Kippur, which will be a Jubilee anniversary year, the Messiah
will appear: “The World will endure not less then 85 jubilees, and in
the last jubilee the Messiah, Son of David will come” (Talmud Sanhedrin
97b).
The
observance of the day teaches us to afflict our souls, we
have sins to confess and repent (1Jno.1:7-9). Today the corporate
world preaches that “the customer is always right.” After all
these years it goes to your head, and now the customer is always right:
when they go to church, when they go to the doctor, when they go to their
politicians, and at home they are always right. If there is a
problem it is because someone else did something - there is always a
scapegoat to blame it on (preferably one with deep pockets).
'Evolve beyond your sub-routines!'
Everyone is afraid to tell people the hard truth for fear of losing the
cash flow from the at person. But not in our CREATOR’S Kingdom,
and afflicting one soul’s is a forgotten Rite sorely needed in today’s
world. Kick back for a day and ponder ones personal habits.
Say I am sorry, and try to change for the better. In turn, forgive
and be forgiven, then put it into the forgotten past.
“The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak,” is an old saying.
In this “working relationship” with the Kingdom, we all have some pain
in the process, no one is perfect - but we try. It is a life long
process of learning and growing until the CREATOR calls us home.
Personal discipline is still the cornerstone in the New Testament.
Today many churches like to say that the Law has been cancelled, and all
one has to do is to believe in the Messiah. This sounds more like
Satan talking then Yahshua.
Yahshuas’ teachings spoke to our “secret place,” our heart and our
consciousness. Some will argue that the Law has been cancelled by
the act of Grace in the New Covenant, this is simply not true. In
the Old Covenant the Law was written in stone by the finger of YAHWEH.
In the New Covenant the Law is written in our hearts by YAHWEH’S power
of the Holy Spirit.
Righteousness is always evolving, and the lessons of the New Covenant
teach that now evil thoughts constitute sin (Mat.5:8), we must now learn
to control our consciousness. If anything Yahshua raised the stakes
in following the Law, now besides not doing evil, He tells us “don’t
even think about it!”
We must learn this mind-discipline for two reasons: First our outward
actions are controlled by our consciousness, so we must learn to
discipline our minds. In some ways it is already a common practice,
for example: We would not even think of eating or drinking something that
we already know would make us very sick; the same principle must now be
applied to our other outward actions. We should not even think about
it if they are destructive. The second reason is: Sometime in the
future, after receiving our immortal life, the power of our minds will be
greatly enhanced and then we will have to be very careful about our
thoughts.
Eternal life in the Kingdom means following the basic Kingdom Laws.
The Angels live by them, and so will we. Yahshua plainly stated in
Matthew 5:17-18, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the
Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For
assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one
tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”
Which law was He talking about? It was not the man-designed Jewish
law, but the Law of the Heavens given to Moses.
Yahshua clearly warned: “. . . but if you want to enter into life, keep
the commandments,” Matthew 19:18. It’s one of those no-brainer
issues, let us quickly review the Ten Commandments. They are first
listed in order in the Old Testament (Exo.20:3-17) in the New Testament
they are not listed in order but they are still there.
For a good way to remember them see 10 Commands page
The Golden Rule in the Old Testament (Lev.19:18) is carried over in the
New Testament in Matthew 7:12. The first and second greatest
commandments have not changed since Abraham made them famous, they are:
love your CREATOR . . ., and love your neighbor, Matthew 22:36-40
There are also warnings of using a sharp tongue (Jam.3:5-6) such as
blasphemy or harsh speaking. Evil speaking, such as backbiting,
revile, defame, slander (2Cor.12:20). Complainers or whiners are
admonished for murmuring, grumbling and griping (1Cor.10:10).
The Apostle Paul called it fighting the good fight (1Tim.6:12), he meant
fighting the spiritual forces of evil by keeping ones own body under
subjection and not giving into evil by controlling ones appetites, lusts,
desires, and doubts (1Cor.9:25-27). Moderation is the Law (Phi.4:5).
Seeing the error of your ways is accomplished in the most intelligent and
clever way, and driving the point home, is not accomplished through brow
beating sermons. Our Biblical example is with King David who stole
the wife of one of his captains, (2Sam.12:1-13). The Prophet Nathan
was directed by YAHWEH to show King David the error of his ways, not by
going and yelling at him, but by showing him his sin in the form of a
parable, which was a story of a pet lamb.
In this story the Prophet paints a picture of a rich man with much live
stock, but when the rich man wanted to provide a dinner for a visitor, he
stole the poor mans only lamb. The poor man loved his only lamb and
treated it so well it was like a member of the family. It is a
wonderful story and anyone who is a pet lover can instantly relate to the
example. Coincidentally, King David was once a shepherd, he
understood the poor man’s pain. King David became enraged at
hearing the story and said the rich man should die for what he did.
Upon realizing he was the rich man, it moved King David to repent
immediately (2Sam.12:1-14).
Pride is the worst sin, because pride is what caused the dark angels to
rebel against YAHWEH. Pride prevents asking for forgiveness, and
then there can be no repentance. GODLY sorrow is a much deeper
sorrow than simple remorse, GODLY sorrow leads to repentance. In
YAHWEH’S Church a Believer must do as King David did, when a person
understands their sin, one must repent. It is not merely a religious
exercise of just going through the motions. Repentance means a
change of mind. It invokes a “revelation,” of not only heartfelt
sorrow for the past sins, but a total change of mind, of attitude, of
direction and purpose to life. It is like tasting something spoiled,
once you realize it, yuck, you spit it out, and think to yourself, I’ll
never eat that again!
Psalm 51 describes a three-step process:
[1]
Accept responsibility, and acknowledge the transgression, vs.1-2.
[2]
Repentance (say you are sorry), then ask forgiveness, and offer
restitution to the injured party, vs.3-4.
[3]
Change lifestyle to avoid that sin, vs.10-11. Once repented do not
commit that sin again (Heb.10:26). Work to strengthen the spirit.
Study the Bible to increase knowledge and character in faith - grace -
love - gentleness - temperance - patience - modesty - forgiveness -
charity - truth - cheerfulness, etc.
Yahshua is our High Priest (Heb.4:14), and His perfect blood is the
covering or atonement for the sins of the world. We must remember
that the Messiah died for our sins, and to show our respect, it is still
the one day a year when all Believers in our CREATOR should follow HIS
command to fast. Acts 27:9 refers to the “fast” 30 years after
the death of Yahshua. Today in America, it should be a national day
of atonement for a country founded on our CREATOR’S principles.
The Believers are still commanded to fast, but what does a fast mean?
This is not some wimpy sunrise to sunset fast - this is the real thing!
Most people totally abstain from taking in any food or water unless it is
needed for medical purposes. The Bible tells of people fasting while
they seek a closer bond to the higher powers. Isaiah ch.58 gives a
stinging sermon to the people on their hypocrisy of their fast, which
Yahshua repeated in Matthew 6:16-18. In these verses Yahshua also
reminds us that a fast is a very personal matter between you and your
CREATOR. Ones countenance should not reflect a long face in order to
gather sympathy or to boast of your sacrifice for doing without your
favorite foods for a day.
A beautiful lesson can be found in The Lost Books of the Bible, Third Book
of Hermas, Similitude V. A fast is more then just not eating. A true
fast is meant to spiritually cleanse your soul and spirit, in turn your
personal sacrifice will be noted in the Heavens. It is a price to be
paid, and when troubles befall you, you might gain favor from the higher
powers for help in times of great personal distress.
Verse 25 reminds us to keep HIS commandments. Verse 29 sums it up:
First cleanse your thoughts from every wicked act, every filthy word, and
every hurtful desire. And purify your mind from all the vanity of
this present world.
Charity is also part of this Holy Day, and the Prophet Hermas goes on to
suggest that the money saved by not eating a days worth of regular meals
should be donated to charity to make your righteous fast complete (for
example: you can put the extra “fast” donation into the Salvation Army
Kettle).
Today, the Mormons have perfected this idea of the fast to a fine art.
Church members are asked to go without two meals once a month and
contribute its value to their own church’s welfare system. The
fast money is separate from the regular church tithes and is maintained
and administered locally, so each community can care for its own
disadvantaged members.
HEALTH
BENEFIT: There is no wasted motion in YAHWEH’S Universe, and the
ancient art of fasting was, and still is considered powerful medicine.
It’s therapeutic value to cleanse the body, clear the mind, and free the
spirit is one of the oldest known to man. In this country, native
Americans used fasting in many sacred ceremonies, often as an offering to
the Great Spirit, the CREATOR of all things. Fasting for health was
endorsed by such medical innovators as Hippocrates and Galen.
According to modern claims, fasting can aid the loss of excess weight and
water, flush the body of toxins, regenerate energy, allow the body to
rest, recover, and rebuild the immune system. Food takes a
tremendous amount of energy to digest - that is blood and energy. In
a fast your digestive system rests, and all that blood and energy can be
used elsewhere in the body for healing.
The
day prophetically pictures when sometime in the future on a
Year of Jubilee, the conquering Messiah comes to Earth and proclaims
“liberty throughout the land.” There will be a literal one year
rest for the planet and all it’s inhabitants. The prisoners will
be set free, and the reckoning is at hand as He will judge the nations of
the world, before establishing His Millennium Kingdom (Mat.25:31-46).
It is also the day, sometime after the thousand-year Kingdom of the
Messiah, YAHWEH’S reckoning is at hand. HE will finally destroy
the dark powers and judge all humanity, before setting up HIS everlasting
Kingdom under the rule of the Messiah (Rev.20:11-15). Or as the
ancient rabbis would say, on this day, sometime in the future, the future
of every individual would be sealed and the gates of Heaven would be
closed.
“Coincidental dates?” Aaron, the first High Priest, makes
the first atonement for Israel (Lev.16:1-28). The destruction of
both the first and second Temples in 586 B.C.E. and 70 C.E. respectively.
The expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492. In a miracle as great as
any in ancient times Israel was saved from annihilation when the Arabs
overran their defenses in the Yom Kippur War October 1973.

The
seven-day
Festival
of
Tabernacles, begins on the 15th day of the 7th month, for seven days, and
the first day is a Holy convocation, verses 33-44. On the eight day
is another Holy Convocation, the Last Great Day, Lev.23:36. It is the
greatest festival, and the most joyous time of the year. Get out the
dancing shoes and lets party!
- Rejoice!
- We are
under YAHWEH’S protection!
The history teaches us about the years of Moses and the Hebrews wandering
in the wilderness in the Tabernacle of YAHWEH’S protection. Here
we see another cleverly crafted lesson as this Holy Day reflects the
creation week. The previous six high-Holy convocations were centered
on work, this, the last Holy festival, symbolically represents the Sabbath
day’s rest in YAHWEH’S Kingdom. We made it! We are on our
way to the
Kingdom!
The Passover season teaches the faithful about our CREATOR’S peace and
protection - if we accept it. The feast of Pentecost teaches about
our CREATOR’S knowledge and power - we should respect it. And now
the season of Tabernacles teaches us our CREATOR’S rest - if we want to
keep it.
This Holy Day is an outdoor event, and after dancing in the streets, we
then come home to rest in YAHWEH’S shelter - built of organic
technology. Today devout Jews still worship in temporary structures
called Sukkots. It is something like a little “lean-to” built
outside against a wall of the house, or in backyards or patios. The
Sukkot is decorated in a fun and festive atmosphere which represents our
CREATOR’S shelter in the world to come. They are built of tree
branches and palm leaves. The inside is decorated party-style, with
a small table and some chairs or large pillows to relax on after dancing
hard in the streets.
The observance of the Festival teaches us to watch for our blessed hope of
the future, when a-l-l will rest in His Messianic Kingdom for a thousand
years. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I
am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light,” Matthew 11:28-30.
There are many interesting symbolisms for Christians in this Holy Week.
Today, the winter solstice festival of peace and good will, or the holiday
that the western world calls Christmas, means “Christ’s mass,”
designed to commemorate His birth. I am not going to tell you that
there is no Santa Clause, but scholarly studies will tell you that Christ,
the Messiah, was not born on December 25, or on the winter solstice.
Modern scholarly research shows that He was born on the fifteenth day of
Tishri (September-October) during the Feast of Tabernacles. (The
year of His birth is open to some speculation, it could be anywhere from 4
to 1 B.C.E., with 1 B.C.E. as the best guess).
A Biblical hint is given by Apostle John when he commented in 1:14, “And
the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The word dwelt is derived from the Hebrew word tabernacle. Some
Bible translations will read “. . . and tabernacled among us.”
Even the symbolism ties in, Yahshua was born of low degree in a stable
manger, that is something that resembles the Jewish Sukkot.
It is a time to rejoice because the Messiah is now with us - spread the
good news!
Ancient prophecies of the Messiah tell us that when He returns,
representatives of all nations and families will go to Jerusalem during
Tabernacles, and show their respects to YAHWEH. The Messiah
guarantees that this obligation is fulfilled or He will make living very
uncomfortable in those nations that do not come (Zec.14:16-19). That
example is the simple moral of the whole story: The sooner you make that
decision, the easier life will be.
We should all pray for the peace of Jerusalem! Today, there is a
place where all Christians and Messianic Believers are represented in
their spiritual capital, it is The International Christian Embassy
Jerusalem. (For more information, see the Links
page.)
It is not a church. It is an embassy. They were incorporated
in 1980 as an association, not a ministry. They are Biblically
rooted, but they are nondenominational and non theological.
Interestingly, it is one of the few places were Arabs’ and Jews’ can
come together - as Messianic Believers. They are an embassy who
unconditionally represents all Believers who care and acknowledge the
Hebrew roots of their faith. They stand as friends, and help the
Jewish people because of YAHWEH’S promises of restoration recorded in
the Scriptures (Ps.102:13; Isa.40:1; Rom.11:26).
They are gentiles helping “prepare the way” through outreach programs.
Such as helping in the monumental task to resettle new arriving
immigrants, from the north’s Soviet Jewry, to the south’s Ethiopian
Jewry, just as the Prophets predicted (Isa.40:1; Jer.16:14-15). And
they are helping to beautify the city for the coming Messiah.
During this Holy festival they are also “preparing the way” through
music, parades and dance. Each year, The Embassy organizes an annual
Christian pilgrimage during the Festival of Tabernacles, gathering more
then 3,000 Christians, representing more then 90 nations participating in
a parade through the streets of Jerusalem. It is a
celebration-event, foreshadowing the prophecies written in Zechariah
14:16. They copy exactly, the music, the garments, and the dance of
the beautiful Davidic style praise as described in Psalms ch.149-150.
The Embassy also brings Jerusalem to America and Europe in the early
summer. They bring celebration-events sharing a taste of the Feast
of Tabernacles, complete with Davidic praise and worship, intercessory
prayer for Israel, teachings on prophecy and current events.
The festival prophetically pictures the time when the Messiah will gather
the people of the Earth to begin His thousand-year reign of the Messianic
Kingdom of YAHWEH, ruled on Earth by the Messiah. It represents the
time when every nation will come to Jerusalem to show their respects to
the Messiah (Eze.37:26-27; Zec.14:16-19).
Sometime in the future, after the millennium rule of the Messiah,
after the Great White Throne Judgment, YAHWEH once again will dwell among
HIS people. During this time we will be under YAHWEH'S special
protection while the Earth is purified from the Curse of Sin (Rev.21:1).
“Coincidental dates?” The dedication of Solomon’s Temple
(1Kgs.8:1-2). Because of the reference by John in 1:14 it is
believed that this is the possible birthday of the Messiah. Sometime
in the future it is the possible date of ushering in the Messianic Kingdom
(Zec.14:9,16).

The Last Great
Day is observed on the eighth day of the
Tabernacles festival, verse 36. It is a Holy convocation, continuing
the period of supreme happiness. The great spiritual opera revealing
the Heavenly master plan from chaos to eternity concludes on this day.
The final act in our spiritual opera is the hope of humanity fulfilled.
Under the Messiah humanity begins their new life in the Millennium
Kingdom. And sometime in the future, after YHWH'S Judgment and
special protection, humanity is returned to a
renewed Earth, to live in YAHWEH’S eternal Kingdom. As the
Children of YHWH of New Earth, our new immortal life begins . . .
The history of this day contained two beautiful and moving
ceremonies: The ritual of “the Pouring of Water,” and the
“Lighting of the Temple.” It pictures for the Hebrew people a
most joyous time, as the Messiah who is the light of the world, pours out
the living waters of the Holy Spirit bringing GOD’S salvation to all the
people. The day was called in Hebrew, Hoshana Rabba, which means the
“Day of Hosanna.”
The Temple priests divided themselves into three large groups, with each
group heading off out of the city in different directions. One group
set off to Bethlehem to purchase animals for the sacrifice. Another
group traveled in procession to a place below Jerusalem called Motza,
where they cut willow branches. The third group took a golden flagon
with them to the Pool of Siloam, to draw three measures of water to be
used in the ritual of “the Pouring of Water.”
The climatic ending came when all three groups returned to the Temple in
procession for the ceremony of “the Lighting of the Temple.”
Following the three groups of priests were tens of thousands of pilgrims
who would flood the streets of Jerusalem and crowded into the Temple mount
area. Each one would be carrying a lighted torch. And then
four huge oil-burning vats were lit. They were so bright that they
actually beamed shafts of light across the city like search lights do
today. The entire city was illuminated for miles. It was a
wonderful breathtaking sight, as the soft candle light reflected off the
natural limestone of the buildings, bringing a magical glow to Jerusalem.
Then they placed their sacrifices upon the altar and the willow bearing
priest placed their willow branches around the altar forming a canopy over
the sacrificial animals. Lastly, a priest would then take the golden
flagon and pour the water into a basin at the foot of the altar while his
assistant poured measures of wine into another bowl. As this was
taking place, the priests blew their trumpets and all the people waved
palm branches while singing praises from Psalms ch.113-118, and calling
the festival “the Season of our Joy.”
Yahshua chose this electrifying moment to make an astonishing
announcement to the crowd in the Temple courtyard. The Apostle John
records in 7:37, “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus
stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and
drink.” Yahshua’s symbolism was loaded with meaning to the Jews
who witnessed it. The tragedy today is, that most in the church
haven’t got a clue. (For more info click: The
Festival of Lights )
The stunning symbolism also becomes prophetic as we are reminded of
the ultimate price of love He paid when John continues in vs.38, “He who
believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow
rivers of living water.” Later John writes of Yahshuas’
crucifixion in 19:34, “. . . one of the soldiers pierced His side with a
spear, and immediately blood and water came out.”
The observance of the day teaches us that this is the last Holy
Day, the end of the harvest season, and the final lesson in our
CREATOR’S great plan of redemption for all of humanity. HE has
kept HIS promises and now HIS people can enjoy the fruits of HIS promises
forever.
The Scriptures warn against
backsliding or going astray, as the ancient Hebrews did after they were
led to freedom. It did not take long for them to slip back into
their pagan ways. Because of this they had to wander in the
wilderness and they missed their rest in the promised land. Stay
true to your righteous faith until the end or “you will not enter HIS
rest” (Heb.3:7-19).
The day prophetically pictures the completion of this earthly life,
now we look to the eternal era, beyond the realm of time, to eternal life
in YAHWEH’S Kingdom, under the rule of Yahshua the Messiah.
As John writes in the Book of Revelation ch.21-22, “Now I saw a new
heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had
passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the
holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as
a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from
heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men . . .”
The doorway is opened for a new and wondrous life . . .
We made it! We are in the
Kingdom! We have our immortal spirit bodies - and we will look like
we are 21 again! Time to rejoice! HalleluYAH!
- The Kingdom brings
- a new dawn over
Earth,
- as the universe awaits
- for the revealing of
