Passover
Greetings from HomeWorship 101™
- “These
are the feasts of the Lord,
- holy
convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.
- On
the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the Lord’s
Passover.”
- -
Leviticus 23:4-5
- .
- “the night to be much observed”
- - Exodus 12:42
For those who can see, YHWH’s spring Holy Day
Season begins on Passover (April 6th begins evening of the
5th). Technically
speaking Passover is not a High Holy Day because the people were allowed
to work (the Israelites worked joyously hard as they packed up their
possessions and began their exodus out of Egypt)
- it is “the night to be much observed” (Exo.12:42).
It is no coincidence, that the Passover is the first Holy event
of the year. Passover comes
first because it gives humanity the “Blood of the Covenant,” which
symbolically seals and binds YHWH’s Covenants in blood.
The simple four-word term ‘Blood of the Covenant’ is rich in
spiritual meaning, and it’s symbolism is played out with the - wedding
- cup of wine in the Passover ceremony called the “Cup of the
Covenant,” for an in-depth study log on to my Mystery of the Bride web
page: http://www.homeworship101.com/bb-c10_mystery_of_the_bride.htm
- The Bride shows herself approved (keeps her lamp full)
- through respect and study (Mat.25:1-13).
A
few months ago a visitor to my website called me to order a book.
We got to talking and he said he was a retired military officer
and a member of a popular Protestant domination.
He went on the say that he has had a calling to discover more of
the Messianic roots of his Christian faith.
He told me as he discovered some new truths, like the true names
and Holy Days, he thought to share his discoveries with the church
elders. He was astonished
at their response when they bluntly said to him, “…you’re not
going to bring those old ways in here!”
The real sad part is that his wife (who is also a member of the
same church), doesn’t approve either and its causing some friction.
He was very frustrated, but he said he is not giving up his quest
for the Biblical truth of the early church.
- The ancient
ways carry purpose
- and should not be forlorned.
Priests
believe they have the power over your spirit and they can be
very intimating if one strays from church doctrine. Thankfully we are saved because of YHWH’s Covenants and the
spiritual lessons begin on Passover.
It is interesting to note, that YHWH showed HE is still in charge
by fulfilling many Covenants promises on HIS annual Holy days. Sadly the general Christian world picks and chooses what they
believe or teach from the Bible, and have no idea or don’t care to
know of YHWH’s ancient Holy Days.
H
The
opening Bible quote verse clearly states that these are YHWH’s Holy
Days; nowhere does it state that these are Jewish Holy Days.
And from the above verse it also appears to me that we Bible
teachers should be proclaiming the Holy Days at their appointed time,
which means that it is not man’s appointed time, but we watch the
signs for YHWH’s appointed times.
“They overcame him by the blood
of the lamb.”
– Revelation 12:11
Christians traditionally have shunned what they think are ‘Jewish
holiday’s, so they renamed Passover, the Last Supper to make more
palatable. Sadly, by doing
so, they miss much of the wondrous spiritual symbolism, and much of the
spiritual knowledge, because they focus on the pagan named Easter and
chase Easter eggs, instead of participating in YHWH’s Passover.
The symbolism of wine as the Blood of the Covenant is very
important in YHWH’s Covenant Rites, and it figures prominently in the
yearly Passover ceremony. Passover is the oldest,
continuously observed religious holiday on the planet. The Passover
Rites are first mentioned in the Bible when Abraham pays respects and
tithe to King Melchizedek who brings out wine and bread, not for a meal
but because of its spiritual symbolism (Gen.14:18-24).
There are Biblical hints that Passover extends all the way back
to the first family when Abel made an offering of firstlings of his
flock of sheep (Gen.4:3-7). YHWH,
Yahshua, and the Apostles talked about Passover a lot, as there are over
70 references to the Feast of Passover in the Bible, and today’s
official Passover observance is a 3,500-year-old tradition that began in
the time of Moses. Lastly,
it is so important to our CREATOR that it is the only Holy Observance
that has a provision to observe it exactly one month later if it was
missed the first time. Satan is damn cunning, today the Jews celebrate Passover
without realizing it is really communion, and the Christians celebrate
communion without realizing it is really Passover!
On the 14th
day… The Passover (April
6th)
On
the original Passover night YHWH showed the faithful that the pagan
rulers and their evil world have no future.
Surviving the Passover night means one has been found 'justified
and redeemed' (Exo.ch.12-13). Redeemed
means that something has been bought back from the marketplace.
Justification means that someone has been judged and found
not-guilty. In other words,
humanities sins washed away in the sea of forgetfulness, and that is a
good thing for the spiritual bank account.
Your position before YAHWEH now changes - for the better!
This
also is important to the Christian church, as there are
many New Testament references teaching justification, Romans 3:24-28,
4:25, 5:1-9, 8:30; Galatians 2:16-17.
If we accept the ruling than we must respect HIS (YHWH) position
of authority. We are
justified, found not guilty - for the time being.
Now we have to stay that way, and we do that by accepting YHWH'S
guidance and “putting on” a new person to insure our freedom and
await our Covenant rewards.
We
have seen YHWH’s power and authority, and we heard HIS
teachings or proposal, the next step is ratification of the Covenant.
Ratification means to
publicly proclaim allegiance or commitment to it. And that is accomplished by drinking of the Cup of the
Covenant, or the cup of wine in the Passover ceremony, in Christianity
it is called communion.
Humanities
redemption began with the ancient Israelites by the blood
of Passover. The blood of
Passover that saved them was the blood of the lamb that the ancient
Israelites were told to put on their doorposts.
And some centuries later, humanities redemption was fulfilled
when Yahshua, the innocent “lamb of GOD,” was sacrificed on
Passover. The faithful symbolize this by drinking red wine during the
Passover, and communion rite, by doing so one is symbolically ratifying
the Messianic Covenant or accepting the marriage proposal with YHWH and
Yahshua. To learn more log
